A lot of you are aware of my health struggles in the last year, & I had a final test done last week to confirm/deny a diagnosis.
My doctor is 99.9% sure I have Cushing’s Disease/Syndrome.

While still waiting for final word from him, I worked in a lab and I know how to read the test. Normal range is 6-42 ug/L and my test came back 53 ug/L and marked high.
Positive. For too much cortisol.
I am…a rollercoaster of emotions.

For those who don’t know, Cushing’s is caused by a growth or tumor (usually benign) in 1 of 3 areas:
1. The pituitary gland in the brain
2. The lungs, thyroid, or pancreas
3. The adrenal glands
These growths cause the body to produce too much cortisol, which is damaging

Side effects of it can include weight gain in the trunk region, fatigue, depression, anxiety, memory problems, and can lead to serious illnesses.
Depending on where it is in the body depends on whether it is syndrome or disease.

What does this mean for me?
It means my next steps are a series of tests to try & determine where it could be in my body. After that, most likely surgery to remove the growth.
If the growth is outside my brain & is too big, they’ll remove the affected organ.

If they do that, I’ll take meds for the remainder of my life to simulate the organ, but hopefully after the removal of the growth, I should have a fairly normal life.
As soon as we know though, I have to tackle it ASAP because the sooner it’s fixed, the better for my body

I am…relieved? Terrified? Impatient?
I am happy to know what it is finally. I am scared of surgery, especially potential brain surgery. I am impatient to get started and get it taken care of. I am nervous about any damage that may already be present…

I am TIRED. I’m literally exhausted. It saps your energy and honestly it explains why I’ve had none recently and streaming has become harder due to how tired I am.
But I’m not giving up. I can & will beat this. I have not come this far in my life to back down now.

My only hope is that you’ll all continue to stick with me. I don’t know my stream schedule because I don’t know what my body needs. I’m taking it one day at a time.
I’ll have to go for tests & appointments, but as always I’ll keep you updated 💜

I just ask that you bear with me. I haven’t forgotten you. I’m not graduating. I’m just fighting. & I’m learning new things & exploring new hobbies, but I’m not going anywhere.
There’ll be days I’ll be tired & there’ll be days I’m full of energy. Bear with me 💜

My phycologist has suggested I get tested for this. I have been over weight all my life and probably had polycystic ovaries. I suffered depression most likely since I was 8, first suicide attempt at 12. I am tired but I’m also an insomniac. Hope your journey gets better soon
