Grew up in Chicago as a huge Bruins fan (my nana’s influence!) but was always into Tony O. So much respect for him. Often pretended I was him in street hockey. Had a Northland stick because he did. The goalie of my youth. RIP

@BJaffe Billy, I don't know if anyone, let alone a right-handed catching goalie, will duplicate the successes of Tony Esposito. 15 shutouts in his rookie season is a record that might ever be touched.

@BJaffe I used to play some nets and had a mask just like him when I was a kid . Always loved his style and play . RIP Tony Esposito.

@BJaffe Always loved seeing when the B’s played the Hawks and Phil would face Tony. Not sure if or how many times he scored on his brother.

@BJaffe @NHLNetwork As a very small B's fan in the 70's, I used to think that since Chicago had Tony & we had Phil, our two teams must be related. Very sad for the whole Esposito family.

@BJaffe I saved my money as a kid to buy a Northlands goalie stick as well just to be like Tony O!
