@BJaffe @NHLBruins +/- does indeed suck, but this example works because Hall's difference is entirely at 5v5 (15 GF, 1 GA). His xGF% is at 67.15, best on the team. Was 52.76 in BUF, which wasn't so bad considering, you know, BUF.

@BJaffe @NHLBruins People make me laugh about +/-. no matter what you think of this stat, every single hockey player asks themselves if they were on for GA during a game, it still matters even if it is not a perfect Stat. Still more relevant than arbitrary Hits, Give Away and Take away stats.

@BJaffe @NHLBruins I love the +/- stat but think it definitely can say more about the play of the other 5 guys on the ice with you than your own play. In this case Hall’s play is clearly driving the stat. #signhimnow

@BJaffe @NHLBruins having a legit playmaker get him a guy has a real scoring touch helps and winning cures a ton. you fight harder when u know you can win ever nite. he has been on some really bad teams.
