First I want to express gratitude for platforms like @TheGivingBlock , @GiveDirectly , and others that paved the way in enabling transparent charitable giving on the blockchain. BRAVO! It's beautiful to see so many @artblocks_io artists sharing success through your projects!👇

A platform that has recently blown my mind is @endaomentdotorg . They provide a means to create a frictionless Donor Advised Fund (DAF) to which I can transparently make crypto contributions and from which I can recommend gifts to any 501(c)(3) organization in the USA. 👇

Onboarding charitable organizations to accept crypto is no easy task and can often be expensive for the organization. Endaoment allows me to deploy a receiving address on their behalf and pay the transaction fees so that they don't need to purchase ETH to participate. 👇

Then, from my fund I can easily and transparently transfer funds to their custom address! And the best part is that Endaoment doesn't force them to participate in crypto to claim the funds. They are presented the option of receiving the funds in USDC or in the form of a w/t. 👇

Yes, we want orgs to participate in crypto. But it's scary and new. Sometimes I feel weird saying to an org "hey here's some money but you have to jump through hoops to get it". We are maxis but I believe crypto enabled charitable giving will be the "norm" not the exception. 👇

So there's time for all of that, and eventually the charities will consider the USDC address in lieu of the $25 wire transfer fee imposed by Endaoment which I assume is imposed by a legacy banking institution. 👇

In the spirit of transparency, Endaoment provided me with an ETH address which I have set to be the receiving address of all of the Chromie Squiggle secondary market royalties for the month of October. This means that when AB does a payout run, funds will go straight to my DAF!👇

Instead of having to know where all of the contributions will go in advance, the balance of my DAF will grow as AB sends royalties and I can then distribute the funds at will. Once the money enters the DAF, the *only* destination can be a 501(c)(3) organization (by law). 👇

So while we patiently wait for the first Squiggles royalty payment (they happen pretty sporadically 🤪) my wife and I went ahead and donated approx. $200k to the DAF to get the ball rolling. Introducing... "It's Just a Squiggly Line" 👇

As you can see on the landing page, the purpose of the fund is to "support a variety of charitable organizations with proceeds from secondary sales of the Chromie Squiggle and other crypto endeavors". I just want to reiterate how exceptionally surreal this all is!!!!!!!! 👇

Over the course of the next 24 hours you'll see me start to allocate the existing funds towards Houston organizations focused on homelessness, mental health, education, and the arts! These are organizations that I have grown up knowing and I'm excited to make an impact in each.👇

As the month progresses and royalties start to appear in the fund I'll go back and spread more love. If you know of a Houston based charitable organization that focuses on the four target support sectors above please have them send me a note at itsjustasquigglyline @gmail .com! 👇

There are SO many great causes to support and this round will not be the last round of giving so hold tight if you or someone you love would benefit from support in other sectors. For now, I'm eager to see how this plays out and transparently share the results with you. 👇
