I think what people mean by no politics is for a story to lay out a set of themes for the player, reader, viewer and let them come to their own conclusions. Story always comes first but most hack writers bash people over the head how to think from their ivory soapbox

I do like how stopping the story and gameplay for half hour political essays in no way counts as 'shoving politics down people's throats' but is 'only using politics as set dressing to tell a story.'
Despite the fact the game literally stopped everything to talk politics.
