I really hate to think a Spanish speaking “high ranking” police officer would actually lie to Officer Huesca’s family and tell them the attendance of
@ChicagosMayor
at Huesca’s funeral was mandatory?! If true, it is shameful, dishonest, and embarrassing! How desperate does one…

First of all, he didn’t show up and neither did the governor so he respected the families wishes. It’s very customary but perhaps he’s being judged for reasons beyond his control. But we know those reasons.

Snelling has been so much better than previous police supts before this week. I hope he realizes he needs to get rid of this person immediately

I almost wish he did show up...the Spanish swearing at 100 mph would have helped get the referendum going to enable changing the Illinois Constitution to allow election recalls...would be a big help in taking down Machine politics in Illinois..

There is a HUGE difference between Spanish Speaking and Spanish (Latino) culture. Spanish is not a difficult language to learn. I wouldn't be surprised if a Spanish speaker told the mother a lie but I would be surprised if a cross cultural Latino did that.

Let's get the facts first. I find this hard to believe. I don't like BJ either, but there are too many unsubstantiated rumors that float around on this platform.

The man is dead thanks to Gov. Thightanic's and Mayor Brandi's failed policies. They shouldn't be allowed to use the young police officer's tragic death for a photo op. The young man's family should sue Foxx, Brandi, and Thightanic.

If this proves true the official who told the family this must resign immediately and a full apology from the mayor’s office should be made apologizing for any inconvenience or added stress in this moment of grief and despair

According to Left of Lenin Former Alderman Dick Simpson, being interviewed on what used to be Chicago's Own, it's a Mayor's discretion.
