England's new king, Charles III, was circumcised shortly after his birth in 1948 by a renowned British mohel, Rabbi Jacob Snowman. While it may no longer be the case, it was a custom maintained within the British royal family for generations.

But Charles wasn't the first British royal to be circumcised, the tradition dates back to at least the 19th century monarch, Queen Victoria, and possibly to as early as King George I, who ruled from 1714-1727. /3
A number of reasons are given for the practice, including the possibility that Queen Victoria believed the British royal family to be descended from the biblical King David, and thus indicated, perhaps, a connection to the lost tribes of Israel. /4
