The fact a former cabinet minister is taking this line is odd when people like @StephanieCarvin , @AmarAmarasingam and @ARCCollective have detailed the insidious rise of white supremacy and far-right in Canada via the pandemic.

The fact that @cathmckenna was in government (and holding cabinet positions) but has this take really lends itself to when people across this country in marginalized communities tell me that governments are disconnected from people.

We really need to stop with Canadian exceptionalism. Something like the Ottawa convoy and gravel attack was literally predicted by @StephanieCarvin when I spoke to her following Jan 6th.
