In response to the @nationalpost article about visiting the encampment Thursday morning, I really dislike their phrasing. I didn't "infiltrate" - I just talked my way in before they were stricter w/ entry + chatted until they kicked me out.

And I have no idea if a "majority aren't students". What I said is that a majority of people *I talked to* weren't U of T students and that while I of course didn't take a census, the common assumption that encampment is just U of T students is wrong: many there were not. 2/4

I deliberately did no media interviews, didn't photograph any protestors, didn't name anyone I met there. Many protestors are nice, earnest young folks: of course! We should be respectful. But also: we can't have gated entry on campus, can't camp where my students graduate. 3/4
