When we talk about women and girls, we include trans women and girls and we work to ensure that no one is excluded, discriminated against or disadvantaged because of their gender identity or expression. Read more on our commitment to trans inclusion here:

We’ve been looking closely at how we can be a truly trans inclusive organisation. We’re committed to making AAUK a place where everyone we work with feels welcome, equally valued & free from discrimination of any kind. This includes all trans women, trans men & non-binary people.

@ActionAidUK Excluding women/girls from their own HUMANITY, is EXCLUSIONARY. Women/girls are fully embodied whole human beings. We are not a "gender identity." Women fought for single sex spaces/sports to protect our BODIES, not safeguard our "identity status." Stop DEHUMANIZING women/girls!

@ActionAidUK I hope your legal advice also covered sex as a protected characteristic under EA2010 when discussing diversity & inclusion for your colleagues. It seems to me you might be ignoring that PC all together, which is odd if your focus is supposed to be women & girls.

@ActionAidUK Working for women and girls is completely undone by gender inclusivity- the lie that sex is a costume created with surgeries & drugs to express oneself makes a mockery of womanhood and girlhood. #ItsCapitalismStupid #FollowTheMoney @11thblog

@ActionAidUK Can you clarify? Why do girls in Africa need access to safe space, but your staff do not? Do western males pose no threat but African males do? Are western women are "educated" into understanding they don't need privacy? Racist, sexist or both?

@MsGiveZeroFox @STILLTish @CabsnKings @ActionAidUK @Vaishax Strange that you acknowledge the importance of single sex spaces in your work but not for your staff.

@ActionAidUK Sex and gender are not the same thing. If you encourage people of the male sex into spaces needed by female people for their dignity, privacy and safety, you are making those spaces unsafe for women and girls. I cannot support this, it is discriminatory, dangerous, and cruel.

@ActionAidUK A sad but common consequence of violent or sexual trauma is androphobia, fear of males. If a woman or girl was visibly terrified of male people, would you deny them counselling or accommodation until they had self-treated their phobia? Female trauma outweighs male discomfort.

@ActionAidUK To be clear: You're saying, β€œI think it’s fine to ignore women/girl’s boundaries." You're advocating for men to nonconsensually violate the boundaries of women/girls. Stealing the right of consent from women/girls to single sex spaces & sports is ABUSE. WE SAY NO! RESPECT OUR NO!

@ActionAidUK Women fought for single sex spaces/sports to protect our BODIES, not to safeguard our "gendered identities." There are no "special categories" of men boys who deserve access to our single sex spaces/sports. Men who nonconsensually access these spaces when we say NO are ABUSERS!

@ActionAidUK You're working for girls and women in poverty? So stop fueling gender ideology. It's damaging - especially for poor girls. Please watch this film from @Vaishax to understand why

@ActionAidUK . @STILLTish @MsGiveZeroFox @Vaishax worrying indeed - you'll note that they now disbelieve biology and believe in a religion that is bad for girls and women, and dangerous for gnc girls, everywhere.

@ActionAidUK Sounds great, but does this mean that you consider gender identity to supersede biological sex? Do you now dismiss sex-based oppression? These girls, is this because of their sex or their gender identity?A trans man might be victim here,a trans woman, never

@ActionAidUK *WHO* exactly makes policy in your organization? Do you have actual biological women in senior positions, who believe that *inclusion* of biological male trans is an appropriate way to provide services to girls and women? Who have twisted your arm?
