The
@BettyMcCollum04
bill is both unnecessary and redundant. Current law already establishes reasonable conditions for aid to Israel and any other nation.
Aid can only be used for “legitimate self-defense” and internal security. Our govt already reviews every Israeli purchase.
We oppose
@BettyMcCollum04
’s latest anti-Israel bill, which would condition aid to Israel, undermine U.S. interests and make peace less likely.
We agree with
@POTUS
@JoeBiden
: Cuts or conditions on aid to Israel would be "irresponsible," "outrageous" and a "gigantic mistake."
Congress endorsed
@POTUS44
’s 10yr commitment to Israel of full security assistance without added political restrictions. This policy has broad bipartisan support & is good for America.
Congress must reject Rep. McCollum's attempt to reverse this long-standing bipartisan policy.
Unlike other allies, Israel insists on defending itself by itself, relying on America only to ensure it has the means to do so.
A strong Israel advances our interests—including deterring war and promoting peace. Weakening Israel weakens us.
Peace can only come when Israel feels secure in the context of a rock-solid U.S.-Israel alliance. To advance the pursuit of peace, America should bolster Israel’s security & the U.S.-Israel partnership as hundreds of members of Congress have repeatedly done on a bipartisan basis.
U.S. backing has helped advance peace between Israel and Egypt, Jordan, the UAE, Bahrain, Sudan & Morocco. It also underpinned the most recent serious Israeli efforts to reach peace with the Palestinians—initiatives that failed when President Abbas walked away from negotiations.
Efforts to cut, add conditions, or restrict America's strong, bipartisan commitment to Israel will only harm our national interests.
Congress should decisively rebuff any such proposals and support full security assistance to Israel without added political conditions.

"Aid can only be used for “legitimate self-defense” and internal security." In which of these two categories fits the occupation of Palestinian land, the demolition of Palestinian properties and the suppression by military force of the Palestinian people?
@AIPAC
@BettyMcCollum04
Building illegal Jewish-only colonies on stolen Palestinian land has nothing to do with self-defence, and neither does murdering paramedics, journalists, children, fleeing women waving white flags, and wheelchair-bound double-amputees.

Hmm, well somehow, the question "Are palestinian children being tortured in israeli jails?" doesn't seem to make it into the list red flag questions. Or are you into that kind of thing?
