It's funny how Stalin is depicted as having this huge ego when in reality he was actually really humble. When people talked him up, like for example comparing him to Lenin, he always took offense to it.

Stalin's personality cult was so obvious that people like Mao which were his strongest minions were obliged to talk about how suffocating it was. This entire 'Look at me I'm so humble' is exactly the kind of attitude that served to build the very cult up, funnily.
