The Levite priests spent a good portion of the day dealing with pot scrubbing and pottery breaking. They did a lot of what we associate with housekeeping. Division of domestic labor by gender is not something the Bible concerns itself with.

(2 Kings 21:13 KJV) And I will stretch over Jerusalem the line of Samaria, and the plummet of the house of Ahab: and I will wipe Jerusalem as a man wipeth a dish, wiping it, and turning it upside down.

And Jesus gave washing up tips to the Pharisees.
Blind Pharisee! First clean the inside of the cup and dish, and then the outside also will be clean. Matt 23:26

In Hebrew, the word is ΧΦ΄ΧΦ°ΧΦΆΦ€Χ (yimΒ·αΈ₯eh)
Verb - Qal - Imperfect - third person masculine singular
"To stroke, rub, to erase". In Hebrew, nouns are either masculine or feminine, no neutral nouns ever. So, cleaning is a man's job.

This is hands down my favorite verse to reference when talking with trad influencers. They absolutely melt down over it every time. I was told by a woman once that I was being foolish referencing itπ
The kicker is itβs the only verse in the Bible that talks about washing dishes.
@914Ann
I wash dishes.
I mean, the sad part is that I am interpreting this in a concrete manner.
Wipe the inside, wipe the outside, and turn it upside to dry.
But I really think the whole context is the wrath of God.
