The nurse at the Endo office: you take Tresiba as your long acting insulin?
Me:Yes
Literal next question: are you on an insulin pump?
Me: ummm

Haha! Maybe they think you use Tresiba for long acting, but have a pump for bolusing? I've heard of a few that have done it this way over the years. But, with my Endo just last week asking me how I know what to trust, my CGM vs my meter, it's not surprising.

ER Nurse: well you really shouldn't be giving her medication that you brought from home.
Me: she's....a diabetic? And she has a pump, which as been giving her insulin the whole time she's been here?
Nurse: well, you'll have to remove the pump, she can't have insulin right now.

Donβt you love it π
I had an βRNβ try to just randomly give me insulin in the middle of the night once while being hospitalized with long covid problems in late 20 or 21. Baffling
Guess who prescribed it and still wanted to just randomly give me insulin even after I toldβ¦

Similar in reverse yesterday: After I'd mentioned my pump, nurse looks through my prescription list and sees the basaglar my endo prescribed over a year ago for backup only. "How much basaglar are you using?" π€¦ββοΈ

The last time I went to my GP's office: "These blood pressure numbers look good, unless you're a diabetic... and your file says you are. Are you really a diabetic?"
