For the most part, I called my friends' parents Mr./Ms. (First name). Step parents were the exception, presumably because our friends called their step parents by just their first name, we also called their step parents by just their first names.

Yea no for sure, I get both sides. I was 10 when my dad married my step mom, she practically raised me. But my two oldest step siblings called my dad by his name because they were older by the time the marriage happened (22 and 19), and the youngest two called him dad

I’ve always called my step mom by her first name and my step dads(I’ve had a couple😅) by their names cause it just feels weird otherwise. I call my bff’s parents mom and dad tho😅🤷♀️ and they refer to me as their 3rd daughter🥹

My daughter still calls my bf "uncle John" and it'll prolly stay that way forever. My brother still calls my mom "Aunty" and he's 30 lol it's kinda weird saying mom/dad if it's not ur mom/dad?
