That was only 7 points. Niners still would've lost running on QB3. That QB situation needs to be fixed. If Alex Smith or Jeff Garcia was starting Niners would have another SB win.

Hufanga needed to be more demonstrative but in playoff games NFL needs to review all close plays like this. Too much is on the line

Players plead to the refs like this over everything. Even when it isn't particularly close. Without time and a replay you can't just throw a flag because a player gestures to the ref

Not challenging that play is pure negligence. If that gets reversed it’s 49er ball and Purdy never gets injured.

Dude, I get your suggestion, but players signal incomplete on any close catch to try to sway refs. If coaches challenged on all plays that their defense did that, they would lose 98% of challenges.

Too big of a play not to challenge. Do you think Andy Reid doesnt challenge that play. He challenges plays sometimes to gain a yard advantage. Luckily Shanahan saved those challenges for later. He blew it. Niners ball at their own 41 and we run it down their throats instead.

Why this wasn’t looked at the crew/NFL is a miss. 4th down plays should be treated same as change of possession plays and be reviewed if any question.
