"This is a mass burial at sea, on the USS Intrepid in 1944 following a kamikaze attack. I've never seen this photo, and I figure most of you probably haven't either. I posted so people can see, and remember the incredible sacrifices made on our behalf."

My husband's grandpa was in the merchant marines when Pearl Harbor was attacked. His ship was then commissioned into the US Navy and they traveled all around the Pacific Islands collecting the bodies of the dead soldiers. He said they were at sea for many years without any break

I knew a very gentle man who served on a battleship in WW2. He told me that at the beginning of his service as a gunner he hoped that he would never have to shoot down any planes. Then his eyes turned to steel and he told me how quickly that changed after a kamikaze hit his ship

Thank you for posting these valuable images.
The Kamikaze suicide attack was an attack that meant absolutely nothing, and should never happen again.🙏🌸🥲

Pearl Harbour is a great experience to visit and also very moving. Being out there where all the ships were tethered along the sides and seeing the area and the remains underneath the water. Something these young generations should see and appreciate their freedom.
