It’s a lot of softness in this comment section. He is in his child’s life and teaching him. Every parent not the same and everybody do things different. Maybe this is what that child needs. Bet he won’t do it again.

You're the one who's soft if you automatically bend to the authority of "he's the father". Abusing children is bad, publicly humiliating them is bad, and not only morally but also because it objectively, scientifically probably, does not have any positive effect.

No child ‘needs’ to be publicly humiliated and slapped on social media or in private. His dad needs to know HE failed him not the other way around. That young boy is going to remember this and only time will tell how he will turn out bc of this.

Publicly humiliating your child for all the internet to see is not going to get you the outcome you desire. There will be a lot of anger & resentment built up.

It’s exactly what he needed but the father’s delivery of the message was uncalled for. He could’ve done it without posting it on social media. He also should’ve taken responsibility for his weapon not being locked up.
